Vintage Clipboard

I created this asset in five days during the final week of Bootcamp training at Pixel Mafia. Our challenge was to create a game-ready asset that was approved and optimized. Inspired by how wacky Josephine’s clipboard looks in Dragon Age, I imagined a similar version, something that could have existed in the early 1900s and would also be wacky, convenient, and multipurpose.

The shapes were easy to model, but one of the harder parts was creating the graphic design and considering the paper texture and scribbles in the model. I wasn’t able to fully replicate the concept design 1:1, but it was fun bringing it to life. As for the flowery ornament decals, they were studio brushes and stamps that I asked permission to use.

Sir Jerico, one of the Concept Artists at Pixel Mafia, redesigned my concept art to make it more suitable for modeling. I’d like to thank him and give him credit for creating and refining the design. I’d also like to thank Sir Justin for providing design and texturing feedback throughout the week.
